October/November issue
Not only is the October/November issue the double issue, it is also whole number 666: the issue of the beast. And yet Gordon didn't make it an all post-apocalyptic issue (even so, it has a great line-up). |

The Neighbor of the Beast
Received my copy of the September issue of F&SF yesterday, which includes a Ted Chiang story, " The Merchant and the Alchemist's Gate," which I read and reviewed several months ago (it is also being published by Subterranean Press). It is a story by Ted Chiang, which means you should go forth and read it. In the process of looking through the table of contents, I noticed that this is issue number 665 of F&SF, and so wonder if Gordon will commemorate October as 666 month. |

Sorry to intrude... I just inheireted a lot of Analog magazines. I have the complete year (13 issues) for 1986 - 1992 and half the year of 1993.
I want them to go to someone who will appreciate them. Any idea how/where to sell these BESIDES EBAY (I don't expect to get a lot)? I live in Portland, OR.
TIA! |

REVIEW: F&SF April 2007 Issue
Finally finished reading the April 2007 issue of F&SF, which happens to be a special Gene Wolfe issue. Wolfe's story alone is worth the price of this, and Levine's story is cute. Review's at my LJ, if anyone's interested. As always, comments and discussion are most welcome. :) REVIEW: April 2007 IssueHappy Reading! |

The review's in my LJ, if anyone's interested. As always, comments and discussion are welcome. REVIEW: F&SF March 2007 IssueAuthors Include: Matthew Hughes Fred Chappell Ron Goulart Robert Reed M. Best of 2006
So I had this RANDOM idea...if I could put together an anthology using only the stories that appeared in the 2006 issues of F & SF, which stories would I pick and why? So...here's my choices for this hypothetical anthology. The links take you to my initial thoughts on them. ( Favorite 2006 F & SF Stories )If you had to create a "Best of 2006" anthology for F & SF, what stories would you pick? No limit to the number, so don't be shy. :) |

Review: August 2006 Issue
So I'm starting to think I'd like to have the option of the following: for the writers who don't exactly write "serial" stories for this mag but do consistently publish short stories in this mag using the same character/group of characters, I'd love to have the option of reading the previous adventures on F & SF's site, and for free (or as a perk of being a subscriber). This way, I wouldn't feel so left out when I read the bio for a story that explains when we previous saw said characters, especially when said previous is two, three, or five years ago. Does anyone know if this is possible? Anyway, just finished the August 2006 issue, and I've got the review in my LJ, if anyone's interested. REVIEW: August 2006 IssueAuthors Include: Chris Willrich Carolyn Ives Gilman (loved this story!) Christopher Rowe Ken Altabef Albert E. Cowdrey Robert Loy Robert Reed Terry Bisson As always, comments and discussion are always welcome. Happy Reading! :) |
